Attn: Foreign Students/Teachers/Specialists
To enter the territory of the Russian Federation (with a purpose of studying, training, conducting research, teaching, etc.) a foreign citizen must obtain an official Letter of Invitation (hereinafter referred to as LoI) from Far Eastern Federal University. To receive the LoI, he or she must submit the following documents and information:
- Copy of International Passport;
- (POB) Place of Birth;
- Address of Residence;
- Address of Work or Study;
- Position Title;
- City (Russian Federation Consulate or Embassy) where the visa will be issued;
- Period of stay at FEFU;
- Purpose of stay at FEFU;
- Contact Phone Number.
Information should be provided in the Russian or English language.
All the above-mentioned information should be submitted to the Migration & Consular Affairs Office of the International Contacts Department 3 (three) months ahead of the expected date of arrival to the Russian Federation.
The fee for the LoI, except for students, is RuR 500.00 (Express mail delivery costs are not included).
Upon receipt of an official LoI, an invited foreign citizen should appeal to the local Embassy or the Consulate General of the Russian Federation located in the nearest city of his or her residence. In order to apply for a work visa, an applicant will need to get an HIV test no more than 90 days before his or her planned arrival to Russia. A notarized copy of the negative test results must be submitted with the work visa application.
A visa can be extended while within the territory of the Russian Federation in accordance with the term of the Contract validity. To apply for an extension, a foreign citizen must provide the FEFU Migration & Consular Affairs Office of the International Contacts Department Office the following documents one and a half months prior to the expiration of the current Visa validity term:
- Migration Card;
- 4 black-and-white photos (matt paper);
- Contract or Agreement confirming the reason for the Visa extension;
- The amount of RuR 1500 in cash.
Every time a foreign citizen enters or re-enters the territory of the Russian Federation, he or she must register his or her arrival with the FEFU Migration & Consular Affairs Office of the International Contacts Department Office on the first working day following the day of arrival.
To be registered by FEFU, a foreign citizen should submit the following documents:
- Migration Card.
